Out of the Darkness they’ve arrived - Ready for slaughter
Since its inception twice in size - The army of the Vengeful Dead

They found the gates wide open – and smelled the life inside
Flesh blood still pumping through thousands of still-beating hearts
It doesn’t take them long to find the cowards hiding underground
Screams of agony fills the air – a bone chilling sound

The demon is pleased with this feast of morbid agony
He yearns to join the carnage – so he needs a host of flesh
A body young and pure a vessel for the lord from the abyss

Then she appeared before him – a pale pubescent beauty
Filling the demon with lust – to taste the purity
She ran from the horrid sight – with a fatal terror in her eyes

Through many doors down many steps – she could run but never hide
These halls they reek of mold and blood – Fresh cadavers strewn all around

In the Cistern of souls – she drank from a cup of blood
Tears pouring from her eyes – She knew it had arrived – terrified yet ready to die

Then the lights ignited – As he slipped inside the child
now Incarcerated within – she had poison in her mouth
you cannot steal live from a dying soul - behold my magic on the walls
Confined forever – In the Cistern of Souls

Venefica - You have betrayed me – These spells won’t hold forever

I wouldnt call it blackened death but it certainly has the bleak dark atmosphere akin to Akhlys or Watain while pummeling you with pure death metal and a touch of dissonance and doominess á la Morbid Angel..it really combines almost everything i love about metal and theres not a weak spot on here..their first album was good but this is stylistically much different and a vast improvement. An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
